Prop art . . . sculptor Clare Britton puts the finishing touches to the lead float in this year's New Mardi Gras parade. Festival organisers are keeping the float's theme under wraps until March 6, but did reveal some of the other floats to look out for: John Howard's Wheel of Misfortune, featuring Amanda Vanstone as an assistant, and Mark Latham followed by a group of injured cab drivers. While 110 floats have been entered so far well short of the more than 200 seen in the festival's heyday organisers have extended the deadline for further entries.
